Anti-Money Laundering & Financial Crime Policy
Last updated: September 2026
MISYAR is a subscription service, not a payment, remittance or money-transfer platform. This policy explains how we guard against money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and financial abuse of our members.
No money movement between members
- MISYAR does not hold member funds, process peer-to-peer payments, or allow money to be sent between members.
- The only payments we take are subscription payments for Premium, collected through regulated payment providers or app stores that carry out their own customer due diligence and sanctions screening.
- We do not accept cash, cryptocurrency or third-party payments on behalf of a member.
Prohibited financial conduct
- Asking another member for money, gifts, loans, investments, gift cards or financial details.
- Romance fraud, advance-fee fraud, investment or crypto solicitation, and any scheme designed to defraud a member.
- Using MISYAR to move, disguise or layer the proceeds of crime, or to fund any unlawful activity or sanctioned party.
- Offering or requesting payment for companionship, marriage, sexual activity or any service.
Our controls
- Payment processing and card verification are handled by regulated providers subject to AML and counter-terrorist-financing obligations.
- We monitor reports of financial solicitation, remove offending accounts, and preserve records where an investigation is likely.
- We screen payment activity against sanctions and fraud checks performed by our payment providers, and we do not knowingly transact with sanctioned individuals or jurisdictions.
- Transaction and account records are retained for at least five years where required by applicable financial-crime law.
Reporting and cooperation
- Report suspected fraud or financial abuse in the app or to support@misyar.app. Never send money to someone you have met online.
- We report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities — including the UK National Crime Agency, the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit and the Saudi Financial Intelligence Unit — where the law requires, and we do not tip off the member concerned.
