Terms of Use

By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are written for a service used across the Middle East, and they apply alongside the laws of the country you use MISYAR from.

Purpose of the service

  • MISYAR exists to help adults find a lawful marriage — misyar, traditional, or a second marriage — with clear intentions stated up front.
  • It is not a service for casual relationships, escorting, solicitation of any kind, or anything unlawful in the country you are in.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to marry.
  • You must use your own identity, your own photos, and truthful information about your marital intentions and status.
  • You are responsible for making sure your use of the app is permitted by the laws and customs of your country.

Your account

  • Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person, one account. Accounts may not be sold, shared or transferred.

Content and conduct

  • You keep ownership of your photos and words. You give us a limited licence to display them inside the app so the service can work.
  • Do not post nudity, sexual content, indecent images, or anything that offends public morals.
  • Do not post content that insults religion or religious figures, incites hatred or violence, or breaks the law of your country.
  • Do not harass, deceive, impersonate, spam, solicit money, or share another member's photos or messages outside the app.
  • You may not use MISYAR to facilitate, promote, coordinate or participate in human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or any form of modern slavery.
  • You may not aid, abet, encourage or incite abuse, harassment, exploitation or any unlawful conduct by or against any other member.

Premium and payments

  • Premium unlocks additional features only. Premium never grants access to another member's private information.
  • Prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time through your app store.
  • Refunds follow the rules of the store you purchased through and the consumer protection law of your country.

Suspension and removal

  • We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, harms other members, or puts the service at legal risk. Where possible we explain why and let you respond.

No guarantees

  • We do not verify every statement made by members and we cannot promise a match, a marriage, or the good conduct of any person you meet. Use your judgement and involve your family or wali if that is your preference.
  • The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss arising from your use of it.

Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without affecting any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
